So I stumbled across this new hot dog joint and me being from Chicago... I LOVE HOT DOG JOINTS! I could not wait till I had the opportunity to walk in and literally "eat it up"! Well I had just that chance this afternoon (1/31/2011) and I took it. It is a cool little hang out and I was not the only one who thought so. I shared my new discovery with a couple dozen teenagers. This is about the food though... right? RIGHT! So looking at the menu I soon realized that this could take a while. Many choices of dogs and all with a clever name, such as the "Bean-Town Bruiser" or the "Moscow Mafia". It was hard to decide which to choose and the Menu was a bit clustered and hard to read, to be honest I gave up and went with what's familiar... the "Chicago Gangster" dog is what they called it. Excited and anxious... I ordered up and thought I'd add in a fry and a coke! Unfortunately they do not serve fries... ummmm ooooh-kay. So I got a soft drink, 1oz bag of chips and what I later found to be one (yes one!) spoon full of baked beans for an extra $2.50. The dog was $3.99, way to frickin much for a dog but I thought that the tasting experience would far beat the price. And besides, they have a downtown lease to pay for I assume, so I cut slack for that at that moment. While waiting in line I noticed that they have a "Downtown Club". What was this all about I wondered, as I know you are reading along and desperately awaiting the answer as well. Its okay, I asked... don't get your hopes up. Its by face recognition, WHAT??! Yes indeedie.. If you come in all the time and they recognize your face, you will receive 10% off. ummmm oooooh-kay.. Why would you advertise that? So I got my food and realized I paid way to much for a inferior product and was still hungry. For two dogs, a fry, and a coke you would pay about $3.50 in Chicago. And it would be AWESOME! Hey, I hate to give a bad review but my momma didn't raise no fool.
